We arrived in Austin on Friday morning. First up, lunch at the notorious restaurant, Chuy's! http://www.chuys.com/
Allison, Susan and Andre. It was a warm, clear day.
We stopped at an area called The Domain. A fancy shopping center with lofts and lodging above the shops.
After a nice breakfast prepared by Andre on Saturday morning, it was time to get the house ready for the party. Allison and I worked on decorating the garage and turned it into a tricked out dance hall
But we had to break for lunch, of course. Allison pets Mishka after our lunch on the back patio.
Sportin' my new Chuy's shirt
All the girls of Susan's friends Stephanie and Julie spending some quality time with Mishka
Rubik's cubes were big in the 80s! Here's how to solve the cube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsQIoPyfQzM
yeah, Baby, three disc set!
More Rubik's cubes!
Three nicely decorated tables for the guests to eat the catered Indian food at
Crockett and Tubbs. Also big in the 80s.
Old school “ghetto blaster”
Drinking is important at parties. This cooler was for the kids, apparently.
Pretty much a travesty to put the New Castles in the same cooler with the Heineken Lites. In fact, I didn't think Heineken could get any worse until I found out they made a lite version!
Oh yeah, the Miller Lite gets a cooler all to itself.
If you started fading, pop open this cooler for a boost!
I hid the beer I brought in the fridge next to the Tsingtao. I'm a seasoned partier.
The dance room is coming along nicely!
Collages of sweet 80s photos adorned the walls
Deanea and Susan went all out and looked fantastic!
Susan and Allison. Allison and I didn't have any 80s-related clothing articles in our repertoire so we came as we were
Rented colored lights that changed and flashed to the beat of the music kicked ass!
Are you hungry like the wolf? iPod videos pumping on the television
Words cannot do this photo justice. I won't try.
The Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man cake! I managed to secure the Pac-Man from the cake. It was yummy.
Doug's 40th birthday was a couple of weeks ago so the celebration was a joint celebration for he and Susan
Andre looked awesome! His 80s outfit nailed the look perfectly. Note Brian in the background wearing his Rod Woodson jersey. 80s!
The kids were chillin in a spare bedroom with the kid-sitter but made an appearance to snag some cake. Smart.
The dancing started around 9:00pm and went all night. Well, maybe it didn't go all night...I packed it in early and fell asleep long before things winded down so I have no idea, really.
Allison and Susan's cousin Matt and his wife Jennifer contemplate break dancing perhaps
Had there been cardboard in the middle of the floor you can bet I would have been busting out some back spins and windmills. Too bad.
