Confident there's snow up in them thar hills
OK, maybe not that confident anymore...
OK, that's more like it!
It's about a 600 foot descent from the top of the chute to the flat bench in the basin. Time to hump it back out for another run.
Bootpacking proved very straight forward but Aaron and Josh were able to skin up the entire chute the second (and third) time around
The second lap was much softer (and therefore more enjoyable) skiing
For the third run we hiked the ridge towards Lake Peak to ride the "little trees" line. Summer rain storm looking clouds rolled in.
A small notch in the ridge allows access to the snow
Ski traverse above the rocks to "little trees"
It wasn't as soft as we had hoped but it was skiing!
Dramatic light on the third climb out
Andy, Sarah and I did a fourth run down the chute we had been using for hiking out of the basin
Plenty soft by 1:30pm in the afternoon
Softer snow means bigger and faster turns!
One more hike up and out and riding down the deserted and closed-for-the-season ski area
