Feast gear box I made for Ariana.
The interior dimension required was 12"x12", which meant I could not do the simple one piece lid, so i did a split lid.
Lid is made from two pieces, hinged to split int he middle.
Slight tension between the two maces them shut tightly.
On the left are her arms, on the right a female archer. The archer is inspired by an image of a Saxon archer from the Bayeux Tapestry.
Construction is butted joints pegged and glued together.
Finish is a golden oak stain with a linseed oil seal overall.
Hinges are commercial, but function well, and I don't find them glaring.
