2012-06-05 - Laurel Mtn NE Gully (III, 5.2)
2012-06-16 - Milky Way over the Sierra from the hot springs.
2012-06-16 - Night sky over the Sierra from the hot springs. The glow is light pollution from Mammoth reflecting on a cloud.
2012-06-17 - Laurel Mtn from Convict Lake. 3,500' to climb!
2012-06-17 - Team Trundle, ready to start the attack.
2012-06-17 - Tream Trundle, ready to start the attack.
2012-06-17 - Rachel & Mt Morrison.
2012-06-17 - Rachel giving me her 'bad ass climber' pose.
2012-06-17 - Cruddy start. We climbed the wall to the right to bypass the wet step. Yuck.
2012-06-17 - Team trundle reaching the first bypass.
2012-06-17 - Team trundle at the first bypass, climbing dirty slab.
2012-06-17 - Ryan at the start of the 'canyoneering'-syle part of the route.
2012-06-17 - The 5.2 chimney crux. Not that bad and the rock was plenty solid.
2012-06-17 - Hauling the team packs up the chimney crux (by Rachel Doran)
2012-06-17 - Going up the slot.
2012-06-17 - More mountain canyoneering. Don't be here in a rainstorm!
2012-06-17 - Ryan at the firs small band on the slab-tastic part of the climb. The larger red band can be seen higher up. That is the routefinding crux, which is where we went wrong.
2012-06-17 - Tream Trundle on the slabulous calf burning part of the climb.
2012-06-17 - Crazy dikes. I think Laurel Mtn has worms . . .
2012-06-17 - Red rock band. We climbed the rib where the rock was surprisingly good. I even did some unnecessary jam cracks here and there. We should have gone right, towards the right slab, but all of the route info emphasizes staying left and on better rock. Oops . . .
2012-06-17 - Reaching some slab near the top of our line. We thought we would turn the corner and reach the top.
2012-06-17 - Looking down. Ryan is heading up the upper slabs.
2012-06-17 - End of the chute.
2012-06-17 - Ryan and Mt Morrison. This is looking less 'gully'-like.
2012-06-17 - Somehow this didn't match the route description for the NE 'Gulley'. :-)
2012-06-17 - Ryan's such a poser ;-)
2012-06-17 - Beginning the climb of the East Ridge. From here the others chose to traverse back to the proper chute, while I decided to keep climbing up.
2012-06-17 - Crux of the E Ridge (cl. 4) in the beginning. The crux is crossing the red band in that corner. Watch out for the large loose talus stacked in a chute above that corner!
2012-06-17 - The others are trying another line of attack . . .
2012-06-17 - Looking down the E Ridge. It is (slightly) more solid than it looks. Still more fun than talus!
2012-06-17 - Notch in the E Ridge (cl. 3). Fortunately this wasn't as hard and loose as it first appeared.
2012-06-17 - Red Slate Mountain.
2012-06-17 - Ugly talus on the last few hundred feet of the proper route. I'm glad I'm not on that!
2012-06-17 - Ritter Range and Mammoth Mtn from the summit of Laurel Mtn.
2012-06-17 - Bloody Mountain
2012-06-17 - Unknown Pk to the NW.
2012-06-17 - Mt Baldwin.
2012-06-17 - Nic and Rachel nearing the secondary summit.
2012-06-17 - Nic and Rachel on the secondary summit.
2012-06-17 - Ryan on the summit.
2012-06-17 - donWolf finishing his direct variation to the summit :-)
2012-06-17 - Team Trundle conquers! (by Summit Rock)
2012-06-17 - E Ridge of Laurel Mtn. I reached the ridge near that little tower on the left, and basically followed the skyline.
2012-06-17 - donWolf & Ryan chilling at the top of the scree chute on the descent.
2012-06-17 - Mt Morrison
2012-06-17 - Scree skiing!
(Video) 2012-06-17 - Nic scree skiing!

2012-06-17 - Red Slate Pk from the trail.
2012-06-17 - Nic and his poor shoes.
