Wake up Mark!
Tall hiker/Tall Walking Stick.
First signs of the most western slide coming off the previously exposed ledges.
Low grade...like a sidewalk so far.
Old exposure at the top.
Saddleback's Chicken Coop Slide.
This is the bottom of an adjacent slide just to the east and travels to an old ledge midway up Basin's false summit and about 300' from the trail.
After some intense blow-down, the slide diverges...the right track ascends the highest.
Mark assessing our "easy" route to the top. Both of us are thinking about the new bigger slide on the other side that's our primary objective.
Steep section of ledges.
Nice crystals exposed from the new route.
Headwall of our route.
Four of the slides as visible from Saddleback. The slides themselves are hidden in the trees from this angle, but their path is evident with some searching. A direct view from Gooseberry Mountain would be a worthy trek.
