At Willow Lake late Friday morning after setting up camp.
no ice climbers today
our planned route, the north ridge of Challenger Pt.
once on the ridge things looked a little more interesting
maybe we should traverse here?
those slopes look a little loaded and there were a few big natural releases.
the route down the west side if you slip.
its almost 4pm, time to turn around. 300' vertical and .38 miles from the summit.
The remaining section. Takeing the ridge (left) would have been better.
Long descent in descending light.
a little alpine glow is always nice.
The Next day, Saturday. 3 black dots. Kevin, Dominic and Sarah are just below the steepest part of the ridge just left of the couloir. I was too beat from yesterday to make the climb again today. 10:30am
Mixed media cairn. Watching other people climb leaves a little time for other things.
climbers on ridge. they have made the summit and returned to the ridge.
X24 zoom - climbers on ridge
another X24 zoom
They are continuing past the route they went up on. They went down the north ridge.
Willow Falls ice
