The James Hotel recently underwent extensive renovations to transform itself into Saskatoon's only boutique hotel.
The lobby. It is obvious that every detail in the hotel has been attended to with care.
Sitting area in the lobby. It has a very "retro" look and feel, which is great.
My 2-bedroom suite. I had my own little kitchen area - sink, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and my personal favourite, my own ice maker!
My 2-bedroom suite sitting area.
The ensuite bathroom (there were 2 bathrooms in my suite) of my 2-bedroom suite was amazing!
This tub was huge! I'm about 6-feet tall, so it is extremely rare that my entire body fits in a hotel bathtub, but in this one I had room to spare.
The view from my 12-floor balcony - the South Saskatchewan River.
More of my view.
The master bedroom of the 2-bedroom suite. The highlight of my entire stay were the bed sheets. This may sound odd, but it's true. I have never slept on anything that felt like the James Hotel's micro-fiber sheets. I can only describe the feeling of those sheets as "butter-like".
The penthouse suite. I didn't stay in those room, but they let me take a look around.
It has a huge living area, full kitchen, covered patio and open patio, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a den with a hide-a-bed.
Penthouse kitchen and dining area.
View from inside the penthouse suite.

Every night's stay at the James Hotel comes with a complimentary hot breakfast. This isn't your average hot breakfast. It is chef-prepared. The highlight of the plate above is the a crepe with saskatoon berry sauce.
The other half of my complimentary breakfast - eggs benedict prepared by the chef.
