Gary, from the Van Stand, in Chantilly, VA, begins the transformation from cargo van to Silk Chariot.
The Cocoon (hey, it's grey and meant to fill with Silks!) arrives home.
It's not finished yet! Where the single crate is, another cabinet will go in to hold 4 more crates for a total of 10 Silks capacity.
The doors covering the lower storage flip up as do the covers so crates can easily be taken in and out.
Inserts add versatility...now it can be used for a bed (for me!) or a table to groom dogs.
There are two fluorescent lights, an exhaust fan that can exhaust or draw fresh air in, and an auxiliary heating/air conditioning unit. The exhaust fan and lights run off two batteries so can be used even when the van is off.
Each window is framed and has a pleated shade. Still to be finished are matching pleated shades for the doors, too.
Ah, the running board makes it SO much easier to get in and out.
With all the shades down it is a cozy Cocoon indeed!
Gary designed and built frames for the back doors so we could have matching shades all around.
Ample storage under the crate cabinets (which is all filled up now!)
