The dunes. The are somewhat reminiscent of the dunes in "Dune", except there were no giant sandworms and the spice did not flow. :(
Betwixt the sea and the smelly grassy flat area was a small forest of tough, gnarled, bent, and odd-looking trees. Hmm. That description sounds like a lot of guys I run with.
