My wife, barefoot and thankfully non-pregnant, joins us for a pre-marathon photo in front of the house.
We should really have put away that rake. It is ruining the ambiance of the photo.

Eric and I in front of the mightiest inflated mastodon it has ever been my pleasure to pose in front of!
Dad, Mom, and I pose for the camera in the heady atmosphere surrounding the starting line for the Burlington Marathon!
Since we are the only ones at the starting line, we obviously got there too early.
But at least we had time for photos. Each one is worth one thousand words, at current market value.
Yup. Way too early.
Dark be the path on this run.
I run in the background, looking much like a surgeon who only half prepped for the OR.
Running with a smarmy look on my face, due to pain.
Coming down the last few hundred feet of the race, while Crocodile Dundee's brother walks his gator. Or dog.
I finish the marathon in record time, crushing the opposition, except for the 2,165 people who finished before me. My time was 4:56:19. Hey, 2,166 out of 2,504 ain't too bad.
Half of Megan looks on as Eric dramatically poses for the finish.
There he is, Mr Marathon. There he is, all sweaty and gross!
Having finished the race, I share 5 hours worth of sweat and grime with Dad in a post-race hug.
Mom and I laugh and joke while the sinister hand of Megan tries to steal my water bottle. Hands off, girl! I just ran a marathon. We will get you a drink later.
Mom and I ham for the camera at the world famous Von Trapp Lodge.
Dad and I at the Von Trapp Lodge. As Dad explained to me, the Von Trapps are famous for something or other. Thanks, Dad.
In a tender and poignant moment, I contemplate the beauty of a flower.
I peruse some stuffed animal behinds, noting fluffiness and overall cuteness.

From left to right: me, Megan, Dad, and Eric. Of course, why am I labeling these since we all know who we are and those who do not know will not care? Because we are vain creatures, all of us.
