Banyan tree that takes up a whole block in Lahaina
This was a great refreshing take on ceviche.
Pistachio-Wasabi Crusted Rare Ahi - sweet soy, caramelized Maui Gold pineapple. Love the crunch of the pistachio and the nice mix of sweet, spicy, savory of the soy suace, pineapple and wasabi.
Steamed Manila Claims - Shiitake mushrooms, black bean truffle butter broth. Truffle butter broth, need I say more? The black bean gave it almost an asian flavor to it.
Crab Pizza at Haliimaile General store. It was incredible pizza, thick crunchy crust with nice hot creamy crab filling.
Sure Thing Burger. This is their pork burger - Kona BBQ sauce, lettuce, grilled onion, cheese. This was just an amazing burger (even at 8 bucks for a small burger). Lots of nice flavors, the coleslaw was a nice touch.
Kona Coast Big Eye Ahi Ceviche (I recall it was another fish, but the menu says Big Eye Ahi...) - Meyer Lemon Soy, tomato-ogo relish, seaweed and Kula onion salad.
Near the town of Keanae on our way to Hana
Looking back down at Keanae
The lower pools of the Seven Pools at the end of the road to Hana (past Hana). Obviously the weather did not permit anyone to get into the pools.
We decided to take the backroads to head back into town, while the road was bumpy, it was actually much easier to drive with less twists and turns. You also get to see gorgeous sunsets and totally different view of Maui
Doesn't this feel like one of those inspiration posters?
At the Haleakala visitor center, it was a beautiful day up here (but raining below the clouds)
The landscape was really amazing
That should be Wailea down there.
The calf was just a few days old and was just practicingt breaching
