Tom ready to start. It took us two hours to drive over and began around 8ish.
We took the Las Vacas Trail towards San Gregorio Reservoir.
San Gregorio Reservoir.
Jason getting across the first stream.
From the reservior we continued on the Las Vacas Trail.
Crazy uprooted tree. This thing was at least 15 feet tall.
The trail was nice in most places.
There were some marshy areas which required getting wet feet.
Lots of small open meadows.
The trail was also gentle enough allowing for running most of the way. We just hiked in the way in.
Getting close to the CDT trail.
There were tons of mushrooms.
Tom almost to the top of San Pedro Peak.
In some sections the trail is not well defined. There are posts to help guide the way.
From the summit of San Pedro Peak.
Jason on the "Peak". The peak was really just the highest point around. Not very drametic, but a cool area non the less.
Looking east of Redondo.
On the way back we took Penas Negras Trail to Perchas Trail to Damian Trail which brought us back to the Resevior.
One of the many trail junctions.
Section of less distinct trail.
We ended up doing around 18 miles in about 6 hours.
