After sleeping in late, Jason, Allison, and myself set out to climb the Telleride Vai Ferrata. On the approach hike.

sketchy steam crossing
Jason checking things out.
This creek was flowing real fast.
We opted to not try crossing on this sketchy bridge. Instead we decide to just go and hike San Miguel Peak (13,752') just outside of Telleride.
To get to the peak, we first had to hike up to Hope Lake

View of the Wilson Group (14ers)
We would cross several small streams on the way to the lake.

Another view down across the valley
Mushrooms growing along side the trail
Trout Lake. Not sure what type of fish you can catch there!
getting close to the lake.
First view of Hope Lake. Looks like the ice is just beginning to break up.
There was a damn on this lake. Not sure why, the water was not even close to filling it and there was a lot of water draining into the lake.
A natural snowboard jump.
Looking across Hope Lake towards Golden Horn and Vermilion Peak
Looking up at our route to San Maguel Peak. This would turn out to be a false summit.
The views are getting good. I think that is Rolling Mountain in the distance.
There is the true summit!
Making our way there
Oscars Pass which is part of the Hardrock 100 course.
Looking down at Hope Lake and the other lakes in the upper basin
Golden Horn, Pilot Knob, and others.
Great views on the way down
