Starting on the icy trails around Los Alamos
We ran down Rendija Canyon to NM502
Crossing the Rio Grande
We were going to river jump, but we did not want to break any laws.
The trail along the Rio followed an old railroad track.
The Rio Grande
In some places it old railraod grade was washed out.
Big washout here.
Not everyone treats the land well.
I think that this is a good place to hunt ultrarunners.
Eventually the trail turned into a 4 wheel drive road.
Looking across the Rio Grande
A small section was thick with trees.
Watch out for this guy.
Starting our way up Buckman Mesa Road.
Running in the wash with the loose sand is a little harder.
Jason makes it look easy.
Suprisingly this was the only wet section we encountered.
Making our way up through Diablo Canyon.
Once through Diablo Canyon we continued up Buckman Road for a little bit. Jason and myself got in around 21 miles.
