The day started cloudy as you can see by the great view of Fölzalm
Actually, it was more fog down low. Just getting above the fog to see the valley between Fölzstein and Mitteralpenturm. The end of my loop will come out between these features.
Now I am finally getting above the fog
Almost to the top of Windgrube. There is a ski area here.
At the top of Windgrube. The views were great up here. The light was also good for photos.
Viedo on top
The peak in the distance is Hochschwab. The highest in this range.
The route goes along this ridge
The clouds were blowing up from the valley
Close up of Gr. Feistringstein
This trail heads down to the valley.
I continued across the ridge
Looking back at the way I just came. Windgrube is on the right side.
Unterstandshütterl. Basically just a place to sleep.
On my way to Kampl. The wind was starting to blow hard up here.
Kampl is off to the right. There was a large plateau up here.
View from the top of Kampl (1990 meters). I did not stay long becuase the wind was blowing hard.
Hochschwab sitting high within all the other peaks.
Fölzstein. You can see the lower section of trail to the top in the snow on the right of the peak.
Looking down into the valley
I crossed paths with these guys on the way down
On the way down
There was a lot of them.
Going down the ridge to the Fölzsattel
Looking down another valley
The Voisthaler Hutte. I hopefully will be back to visit this place when I come to do Hochschwab
Looking back at what I just came down.
The huts at Föltzalm
On the way back to the car
Last view of Föltzstein
About to enter the Fölz Klamm
It was really short. There is a lot of water running under the elevated walk way
Looking back up the Klamm. From here it was a few minutes back to the car. Windy but nice day for a hike.
Elevation Profile. The hike was 14.25 miles long with an elevation gain of 4,450 feet.
