After driving about half way to the 4WD McNasser Gulch trail head, Dan could go no further. So we started hiking from here around 7:30am.
Grizzly peak must not see a lot of action as we found evidence that our friend Sean climbed this on August 7th! Don't know what year.....
I think this may be Garfield Peak.
We gained the saddle on the right side of Grizzly by going up the grass to the scree. It was not as bad as I thought it would be.
Work up through the grass to the saddle.
Once on the saddle there was an excellent view down into the Grizzly creek drainage and Grizzly Lake. The water was very blue!
Final ridge run to the summit
Jason and Dan celebrating that they made it to the top in under 2 hours.
Summit shot. I also made it in just under two hours.
Dan and Jason chillin on top.
Me on top
View to the north. The East Ridge finishes along this route.
View down McNasser Gulch
Another Grizzly flower shot
Even more flowers. Jason must like these since they are yellow!
Look down McNasser Gulch
This is one of the first views of Grizzly that you see as you work up the valley. It is the peak at the end of the valley in the center of the picture.
Some peak across the valley.
