The plan was to go to the Rockdale trail head and climb Emerald and Iowa from there. The crossing of Clear Creak did not go very well. This is where the Jeep got stuck in the creek for about 20 minutes. The water came up over the hood and the Jeep stalled. Luckily the Jeep got through the deep water and stalled in about 18 inches of water. After removing the water soaked air filter, the Jeep started again.
The entire exaush system filled with water. After reving the engine for a while, most of the water came out. After scouting for a better way to cross, we were able to get back across without incident.
We opted to do Emerald and Iowa from the Missouri Gulch Trailhead. Crossing Clear Creek was much easier on the bridge.
