Sunrise from my house
Sean and Ryan at the ski area getting ready for the adventure
Nice morning at the ski area.
Oh my, what long legs you have.
Plans were for a relaxing several hour run. We headed out towards Guaje Canyon from the ski area.
Before dropping into Guaje Canyon, we took the trail up to Cerro Rubio.
This trail is much more defined since the last time I was up here several years ago.
Rock markers along the way.
Couple of Aspen leaves on the new snow.
At the junction with an old logging road.
Looks like winter.
Tom stopped here.
Old logging road. We continued up hill to the top of Cerro Rubio.
Tracking some runners.
Going to the top of Cerro Rubio required going over this barbed wire fence.
Sean has a fear of barbed wire fences.
Snow covered tree with Pajarito Ski Area in the background.
These rocks mark the top of Cerro Rubio.
Awesome views from the top.
Looking toward the ski area.
Looking into Valle de los Posos with Valle Grande in the distance
We got the end of the Aspen color change.
This run had both fall and winter scenes
Looking north as we made our way down the backside of Cerro Rubio.
Lots of snow on this side.
David only guided us on a couple of wrong turns.
Crusing down an old logging road.
In some Aspen groves.
Doesn't get much better than this.
The weather stayed mostly cloudy during the run, but with nice temperatures.
Basically down off Cerro Rubio now.
Crusing through some small meadows.
David found the matching one
What big rack you got!
Hopping the fence
Heading back to the ski hill.
Almost back to the ski area. We got in a 15 mile run.
