View of an old building from the hotel window
View of the hiking destination of the day (also from the hotelroom). On the right is Rosskopf and on the left is Baukogel
There was a little moring mist at the start.
A small side stream that we crossed.
We started just outside of town (Rauris)
Mist and sheep
Nice blue skies to start the day
Rebecca working up the trail
A very green building
Nice fall day
A storm is coming
This is a very useful gate
Another foggy day in the valley
Almost to the top of Rosskopt (Baukogel is to the left)
Looking down on Rauris from the top of Rosskopt
On top of Rosskopf (2093m)
I quickly made a trip over to the top of Baukogel
Time to start up again
looking down into the valley
Ridge coming off Baukogel
Trail 125 was marked well
The route quickly got steep enough that there were fixed ropes and cables.
Looking back down
The top of Baukogel (2224m). My watch showed 4,000 feet in 4.2 miles.
There is a trail that goes along the ridge line. Looks like fun.
Views from the top.
It seemed much steeper on the way down
Heading back to Rosskopf
This peak is Silberpfenning, where I was yesterday.
The cross on Rosskopf.
The next day the weather was starting to turn for the worse, but we went for a hike anyhow.
A wire to nowhere
Huge left over snow patches, probably from avalanches
We hiked up the Krumltal valley
It started raining on the way up.
Another snow bridge across the river
Not sure if I would want to walk it!
There was lots and lots of water in this valley
The clouds continued to drop
Shortly after this picture a wall of fog came up the valley bringing in a quick drop in temperature and a steady rain.
The next morning we woke to snow. Here is the view of Baukogel and Rosskopf from the hotel room.
We stopped to hike a klamm on the way home, but it was closed.
The snow was nice.
And we found the Geist mountain!
And casa Rebecca!
