Added a fourth vent after a year of use.
This is why you need water treatment. Draining water prior to adding 2 Rectorsteal steamaster tablets.
2 Rectorseal Steamaster tablets added to reduce corrosion as per Gerry Gill's recommendation. Have had little or no rust in water for months now since adding.
Building a Danfoss TRV
Building a Danfoss TRV. The grey knob that comes on the valve body allows manual adjustment of the flow. The white thermostatic controller takes the grey caps place.
Gorton 6 to vent riser fast.
Danfoss TRV + Gorton 4 to vent rad slow and give TRV time to react.
Gauge glass blowdown. I got this idea from steamhead and gordo.
Wand for cleaning the boiler out via the skim port.
Added a 5th Gorton 1 today.
Added a valve to equalize the pressure going to the 3.0 psi gauge before taking a reading.
The valve I used came off of the gauge glass drain.
New location for thermostat
The EcoSteam by Two Twelve F, LLC
EcoSteam indoor temperature sensor mounted below thermostat
Transmitter for indoor temperature sensor
Pressure switch set to 4 ounces to force EcoSteam into hold mode. This essentially makes my Pressuretrol nothing more than a safety device set to 1.5 PSI.
EcoSteam outdoor sensor
EcoSteam preheat sensor.
The 1 1/2" ball valve I had on the skimmer failed so I replaced it with a brass coupler and brass plug.
Copper pipe ripped out of the closet and a proper black iron pipe installed in it's original spot to heat the baby's room.
Not sure what this was. Either a hole rusted in the pipe or someone drilled a hole in it to allow it to drain. Either way it was a big problem.
Threading 1 1/4" pipe with Ridgid 65R-TC
Modified piping after installing new floor.
No pigtail siphon on low pressure gauge and switch.
Original 150,000 btu EG-45 burner
Comparing EG-45 to new EG-40 manifold
Manifold comparison again. Different height bung means I need a 1/2" shorter nipple.
New 125,000 btu input EG-40 burner
New EG-40 drafthood
Slightly lower pressure even at the end of a 30 minute cycle.
Inlet gas pressure.
Preset CGV manifold pressure.
Corrected manifold pressure.
Pressure drops at each radiator.
System pressure when starting up after a setback.
Barometric damper conversion and new snubber installed with lower pressure Dwyer 1823-2 switch. Switch is set to trip at 2" WC and shut the system down for 5 minutes to allow radiators to dissipate some heat.
New Dwyer 1823-2 switch and 0.015" snubber.
When it's near 0F outside I can get steam to the end of the 29' main in 90 seconds after the thermostat calls for heat. System was running 2 CPH which means approximately 40 minutes per hour actual heat time. 67% duty cycle when below design day with a so called undersized boiler ain't bad.
