This IROCKET swimmer is just jammin through the water.
Gene Tessier is IROC's Volunteer of the Year. The choice this year was not difficult at all, once we thought about it for about 5 seconds. In 1988, Gene Tessier started Border Hoop with just about 50 kids and a handful of parental volunteers. He has stuck with it year in and year out with an expanding group of volunteer support. Border Hoop now has 505 youth participants this year. When we win our next State Championship, we know it will be because Gene and Border Hoop put balls in these kids hands when they could barely run and got them focused on team play and getting that ball through the hoop any way they can.
Thanks to MVP and Hayes Ford, we can now offer waffles to our Kingdom Swimmers when they complete their swim. And, on the assist, Alexandra's in downtown Newport..
