Some of the 130 teams waiting for the start ~10:30pm Friday night.
Eric searching for the rock that I may have put in his pack.
Our highly detailed map sketched by Eric (aka. E-Bomb)
Minutes before the start. Un-seasonably warm and great conditions.
Retro-70's Soul Shakedown party on the balcony. Looked like much more fun then skiing 40 miles and 7800ft overnight!
Feeling great at the start, despite already being tired.
Rage in the Sage.
Since there were ~7 miles of non-snow, Eric and I brought along running shoes. This really worked out well for us since we much prefer running/hiking to skiing.
Bootin' it up Star Pass at 4am.
Being awake for 24+ hours does funny things to the mind.
First light, somewhere near Taylor Pass.
Sunrise approaching Taylor Pass.
The morning sun always gives me a boost of energy.
~7am, 8hrs into the race, still many miles to go.
Views can't be beat.
Taylor Pass check point
Taylor Lake and peaks
Looking west towards Castle, Conundrum, and Cathedral Peaks.
More bootin' up right past Taylor Pass.
I don't remember taking this picture or where it was.
Another delirious picture moment.
Near Barnard Hut I think. Definitely after a huge uphill and a crash-filled downhill... the theme of the day.
The finish!!!!! 12hrs and 23mins put us at 56th place.
