Redrafted pocket facing
New Pocket Facing pattern pieces (To make these, I copied the original pattern piece onto two sheets of tracing paper. Then, I measured 1 5/8" from the single-botched edge to create the smaller piece. I measured 1" to cut from the same edge on the other piece. This gives a 3/8" fashion fabric facing.)
Pocket facings sewn together and attached to skirt front
My first lapped zipper
My first mitered hem (at vent)
The finished skirt (You can't tell but, this heather grey Henley just happens to have teeny flowers on the placket. The leaves matched my skirt perfectly :) )
The finished skirt - side view
The finished skirt - back view. (I forgot to make a sway-back adjustment.)
I actually wore it with the shirt out.
Evening picture - the shirt is still washed out but it gives a slightly better look at the skirt
After a nice walk with CoCo
Wearing the skirt out for a walk around The Old Mill, paired with another handmade item, McCalls 5138 (button-front shirt). (My pocket lining actually matches this shirt! Good thing no one could tell.)
Attempting to pose without looking at the camera... needs work but I like the natural background.
Simplicity 2451 - Honey Gold Midi
The golden version is still a favorite :)
