As we neared Smokies..
Fall colors looking good from a distance..
Amazing..u have to be there to enjoy it!
Red mountains??
amazing!!
was a close shave!! I felt it is the perfect time to take a pic!
chakri the saviour!!
The 1st part of the 5.5 mi hike was along the river and was very scenic..
This is called Little River Trail BTW and goes on for 2.4 miles.
no, thats not a shining rock, thats chakri's head!! ;)
The sad part -Most of the trees had already shed leaves in the place we went hiking - Elkmont, though the visitor center suggested this place..
see?
after complting around 1.5 miles, me still going Balle Balle!! Naveed started making plans to head back...
one of those beautiful spots along the way...
this fall was amazing! it started from that place and flowed down to the river, but we were in mid-level of the falls on a bridge!!
Finally made it to the end of the 1st trail..now entering Cucumber Gap trail, another 2.3 miles in the reverse direction..
one place which caused a confusion, encountered this stream in the middle...we were not sure which direction to head after crossing this!!
looks like we took the right direction!!
the walk continues...the best part of this trail was that creepy noise which came sometime in the middle which made us all to stop in our tracks..were they bears? they sounded more like swarms of bees!! finally realized that was a plane flying somewhere above!! :)
trees looking much better here!
the road less traveled?? this route kept us in doubt most of the way!!
chakri running forward so that he cud come in this pic!!
experiments with camera!
Mission accomplished! 2.3 mi cucumber gap trail completed, so total 4.7 miles done so far
Naveed was a very happy man then!!
what next? which direction to go? This is the Jakes Creek Trail
along that trail, around 0.5 miles
Naveed's joy knew no bounds when he saw our car at last!!
