We were late for the morning whale watch so we decided to go on the afternoon one. We had a couple of hours to kill so we decided to climb the hill at Fingal Bay.
On a trail heading to the side of the hill towards the ocean.
On our hike we happened upon a big goanna, the Aussie term for monitor lizards.
We were thrilled to see this huge thing in the wild. It was trying to steal eggs from a bird's nest on top of this tree but froze to be invisible when it saw us.
View from the ocean trail.
My handsome husband in front of the breathtaking view from one of the trail turns.
At the top, viewpoint area.
The other end of the viewpoint
The beaches are so beautiful.
We joined the 3-hr Imagine dolphin & whale tour.
The two of us in front of the catamaran that we rode.
At the front table, we like to be where all the action is.
Heading out the bay.
This is before all the roller coaster action.
Aussie marine flag.
The islands that we passed.
Enjoying the wind.
The sails are up!
Sitting in the netting in front of the boat...only 4 people are allowed at once and nobody else looked interested, so of course Jeremy is the first one in.
It's quite a view from there, it feels like you're flying over the waves because there's not much separating you from the water.
View from lying in our relaxing "hammock."
At last, a whale sighting...and it was quite a treat.
Normally they don't breach this often, we're told, but since Mama was teaching Junior...
Flopping around to cooldown.
Here's Junior breaching.
Heading back home.
This is what Ayers Rock (Uluru) looks like after global warming has melted all the ice... (just kidding).
Awesome caves in this rock.
I could get used to having my own sailboat....
Pretty beaches.
