Butchart Gardens during the 12 Days of Christmas event
In front of the Christmas tree that had tons of gifts, but were, sadly, not for us.
Exploring the grounds
Fountain decorated with holly
And the 12 Days of Christmas begins.... "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... A partridge in a pear tree..."
"Two turtle doves"
"Three French hens" (they were having croissants and coffee and I guess that's what makes them French :D)
The Sunken Gardens in winter
Jeremy insists I be in the pictures, grr....
"Four calling birds"
You can't see it too well here but all these birds have cellphones...thus "calling" birds...
My favorite tree in the Sunken Garden
"Five golden rings" --they looked prettier when they were lighted up at night but didn't take a picture then.
Found another Christmas tree.
Photography moment brought to you by Annie.
"Six geese a-laying"
Birds heading south?
"Seven swans a-swimming"
Christmas house
"Eight maids a-milking"
"Nine ladies dancing" --in a carousel a bunch of princesses from the fairy tales...although I didn't think the witch from Snow White counted as a "lady"
"Ten lords a-leaping" turned out to be frogs with crowns jumping up and down behind the hedges and we couldn't get them all at once
"Eleven pipers piping"
When night falls on the garden, the Christmas lights come on.

My favorite tree all lighted up
Lighted trees near the totem poles
The Blue Tree was pretty amazing
The brass band playing Christmas carols added a festive air to the night. We looked high and low and finally realized that the "Twelve drummers drumming" were in the exit out the garden :D
