Village Enterprises

During its decade long existence, beginning with the award winning St. Anthony Village, Village Enterprises, Inc., has developed residential facilities providing housing and care for Oregon's at-risk seniors and children. More than 450 individuals presently reside in one of Village Enterprises' four facilities: St. Anthony Village (Portland); Assumption Village (St. Johns); Trinity Court (Corvallis); and Villa St. Margaret (Portland). In addition to assisted or dementia care for seniors, the Village Enterprise family offers child care to low-income families as well as low-income housing to the economically vulnerable.

World Spark - Kiserian, Kenya School Expansion

St. Bernard's Middle School in Kiserian, Kenya was developed in collaboration with the Sisters of the Holy Spirit religious community in Kenya and Tanzania. The Holy Spirit Sisters, who also work at Village Enterprises' St. Anthony Village and Assumption Village in Portland, have a elementary school and medical complex in Kiserian. Working with the sisters and the village community, World Spark constructed a Middle School to be administered by the Holy Spirit Sisters.

World Spark - Sacred Heart Villa

World Spark's first project was the development of a 70 unit Senior housing complex that includes a Senior Dining and Social Center, a physical therapy clinic and community gardens. Located in Portland's re-developing inner East Side, Sacred Heart Villa evidences World Spark's trademark process of collaboration, adaptation, and innovation. Working with the neighborhood and city as well as senior, church and charitable leaders, World Spark utilized available resources to design an innovative response to the housing, social and nutritional needs of a changing population.

World Spark - Ancon Child Center & School

Located in the high desert outside of La Paz, Baja Mexico, the Ancon community was rich in spirit but lacked adequate educational facilities. Responding to the Ancon parents' request for the renovation of their school and the construction of a pre-school center, World Spark funded, designed and supervised construction of a community-based facility now staffed and maintained by the Ancon community.
