here the little cocoons are put in hot water, and they wind the thread onto this spool to collect it. One cocoon has up to 200 or 300meters of thread. Our tour guide opened one up and Will ate it. He said it needed salt.

here they showed all the different things they use to dye the silk
threads that had been dyed, but not washed yet. She said they use hair shampoo to wash the silk
