Flores Island is located to the East of Hesquiat Point Creek. The majority of Flores is in a pristine condition.
Flores Island is one of the better known pristine areas of Clayoquot Sound. The Wild Side Trail follows the west shore of the island (seen here).
Mount Flores, the peak on the left, is the highest point on the island.

Flores Island is in Ahousaht First Nations territory. This is the village of Ahousaht, population around 800. Not only is this the main community of the Ahousaht First Nations, it is the largest non-road accessable community in Clayoquot Sound and one of the largest in BC.
A short walk from the village of Ahousaht lies the first of the Wild Side beaches, a series of beaches on the west side of Florest Island that are linked via the Wild Side Trail to each other and to the village.
Kutcous Point is along the Wild Side Trail on the west side of Flores Island.
The Wild Side Trail runs from beach to beach cutting across the points.
