731 Japanese Atrocities Museum

This museum is at the original site of a Japanese facility for testing chemical and biological weapons on humans (the Chinese) as well as other nasty treatments. I've been told by people who've been that the atmosphere is similar to the holocaust internment camps in Germany.

Dandong

My final group weekend trip of CET Harbin. We went to a town called Dandong, right on the North Korean border, checked out the barbed wire fence and took a speedboat on the river. A couple of North Korean soldiers waved cheerfully from the shore as we motored past. In addition to our brush with the greatest remaining bastion of communist oppression on earth, I stayed in an oceanfront villa, went swimming, roasted kebabs, and took a zipline over a river.
