I caught this critter on film one night as I was getting ready for bed.
Kalo, my cat, catching a catnap. He sleeps in really funny and awkward positions that don't look very comfortable sometimes!
Sunrise in Kenieba
Jersey is getting bigger...

on our way up to the top of the cliffs
we passed this guy on our way up, with quite a load!

Walking through a field
the first village we passed through... make way for the cow!

on our way across the ridge
at the waterfall, a good place for a snack break
We headed back up the cliff for another hike the first weekend in November. Another great view of Kenieba!
This tree is incredible. It must have really strong roots!
This stone wall reminded me of the old stone walls at home
I'm glad this cow was tied up!
A typical fence for the farms in these small villages
The centerpiece of the village was this huge baobab tree
The dugutigi (village chief) greeted us and invited us to sit at his house. He told us that some protestant missionaries had come here a few years ago, and showed us a bible that they gave him. The bible was all in Bambara, the local language.
When we left, the dugutigi walked with us to the edge of his village.
These kids came to see the "tubabus" walking through their village. That kid on the left freaked out when I took this photo, and I could hear her screaming long after I left! But the kids on the right loved seeing their photo in the camera.
Vine covered hut
We walked out to a field and greeted the farmers.
I was talking with this peanut farmer for a little while and asked if I could take his picture. He buttoned his shirt and posed for me.
Another awesome view.
