This is our house! It was built in the 1870s, has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great room, a dining room, and a kitchen. It faces south. WARNING--poorly decorated and soon to be improved! :)
This is another view of the house. The garage is directly to the west of the house (the left in this picture).
The front entrance
The side entrance (into the dining room).
This is the east side of the house.
This is the garage.
The inside of the garage.
This is a view of the yard from above--you can see our pool (!) just to the west of the garage!
This is our side yard with a bonus picture of our new car!
From in the side yard facing the street.
Another view from the side yard.
This is the back deck, just outside the back door off the kitchen.
There are three levels of deck, this is from the second looking up at the first, see in the picture before this one.
This is from the first deck looking down.
The pool! (winterized)
Wanna see inside?
Come on in!
This is the entryway.
The view from the front door to upstairs.
This is from the bedroom just to the left as you enter the front door. It will be our study/library.
Another view of the study---the closet will hide the computer nicely!
The floors in the study need some work, but we think they are original.
This is the view as you stand in the "great room" and look toward the front door. The door on the left is the basement, the middle door the front hall, and the door on the right is the study.
The view down the basement stairs...
which are in need of repair!
This is a "Michigan" basement, meaning it is not poured concrete, but stone.
This is back upstairs in the great room.
The east end of the great room.
The west end of the great room.
This is the view as you enter the dining room from the great room.
The east end of the dining room--this door is the side entrance. And yes, that light fixture has got to go.
The side entrance--note the wood storm door!
The dining room has cool ceilings!
The west end of the dining room has the door to the laundry room.
Standard laundry room, but no appliances. :(
The kitchen from the dining room.
The dining room floors need some work.
This is the west end of the kitchen--through the doorway at the end there are two pantry cabinets, the downstairs bathroom, the garage door, and the back door. The empty corner on the left is where the fridge will go.
Kitchen windows!
The inside of the cabinets are nice.
Huge utility cabinet!
I have two of these pantry cabinets! Yay!
The empty space is for the stove/oven.
East end of the kitchen
Kitchen floor
Kitchen countertops--not bad, considering!
The back door--this goes out to the deck.
Downstairs bathroom
Lovely colors, eh?
Bathroom cabinet above the sink
On to the upstairs! This is the landing just at the top of the stairs. The door straight ahead is the master bedroom. Just to the left is a short hall with the doors to the other 2 upstairs bedrooms.
The view from the landing into the master bedroom.
This door is on the west side of the room and leads into the walk-in closet room.
Again, closet door on the left and you can see the door that goes to the master bath against the back wall. The part of the wall that projects is a small open closet.
The east side of the master bedroom. There is a large window just on the other side of this closet.
Here is the large window!
The master bath
The small closet
The bathtub---interesting...see next picture.
It's a claw foot with no claws, so they have propped it up on these boards. The curtain? Superglued to the tub...oy!
This is the tile in the master bath...lovely, eh?
This is the walk in closet.
Windows in the closet
Closet in the closet
Door in the closet--this leads out to the garage roof, which is sturdy enough to someday support a deck maybe?
The view from the garage roof
The hallway off the landing
This is the first bedroom on the front of the house...probably will be a computer/work room for now.
Another view of the front bedroom.
Front bedroom again...nice built in!
This is the side/west bedroom...the doors are much uglier in person. We'll use this as a guest bedroom.
Closet in the west bedroom.
More of the west bedroom
More of the west bedroom...random ugly sconce on the wall.
This is a picture the owners laid out for us...It was of Rockford in the 1880s...our house is on it!
Zoomed in a little....the block in the center of this picture is ours and we are on the south east corner of it...if that makes any sense...
