This is my Mom driving WIllie Utillie, (the Utilimaster Aeromate.)
Way back in the day, insulating the walls and floor. To do it over again, I would add more and more from the beginning. Condensation on cold metal was the worst problem, like waking up in a rain forest!
Counter top is 1/4 of a wind surf board (light weight, durable!), shelf above it is a flower pod from my sister's palm tree.
The bed pulled out, and the dining room/breakfast nook. THe spare tire cover doubles as straw hat storage!
Florida card night in Willie Utillie with Carol and Mom! (Dining room, breakfast nook, driving area, AND game room!)
The sink is an old light shade, made into a bong that drains into the water jug.
Two large bamboo stalks inside a canvas cover form the bunk bed. The grey receiver on the wall is from the inside of a satellite dish.
The bunk bed/ guest room! And yes, that is a mini disco ball.
Insulated black out shades on the back windows, with the skylight, I don't open them often.
Yes, I need the padded walls, they are covered in chalk board fabric, for fun with chalk!
updated 8-08, showing insulated ceiling and walls. The stove is held in with bungees, with the LP tank built in, so I can take it out and cook outside. The legs of the couch pull out for the bed.
Spices in door, drawer for kitchen stuff, and LP tank built in. Thanks to Brian for letting me salvage the cooktop components from his old camper!
It's nice to be welcomed in the neighborhood, and cook out! The bench was the old system for making my bed, and also doubled as a motorcycle ramp. I've since changed the bed as I don't travel with the motorcycle, and the ramp was heavy.
The blue is insulated wheel well, the LP furnace is shown venting to the outside. All this is concealed under the bed. A gas line runs to the LP tank in the stove, with a quick disconnect so the stove remains removable.
This is the dish pantry. Did I mention I love my lockers for storage? And they're a fun place for stickers! :)
The food pantry. The silverware rests in a plastic ammo case held to the inside door with magnet strips. I love it organized, but just like in an airplane, "contents may shift during flight!" open the locker carefully!
Turn table on the ceiling screws into the retractable arm on the wall for a computer shelf, heat shield above the candle sconce, beautiful picture of Luna Tart above the sequined garbage bin.
Computer shelf in use, can also swing to the left and rest in the other bracket on the wall. It is not used in transit. The speakers are held in with bungees, can be placed outside when appropriate.
Food shelf reorganized with cloth bag canisters.
Silpa the folding bike, hanging from a hockey stick with stainless steel pipe clamps. Bonus: I can still set up the bunk with the bike there.
This is where the clutter lives, inside the lockers, it's why I keep the doors closed. Dry erase board to the right of bike is handy for lists and inspirations.
My Dad and cousins trying to see what powers this thing! (1990 4 cylinder dodge caravan motor, apprx 19 mpg.)
Welcome to the future! Me installing a 75w solar panel to keep my 120 amp hour RV battery charged.
Willie engaging the newly developed docking station at the family compound in northern Wisconsin.
Willie, the storm chaser, crossing the midwest.
Whoop Whoop! Hold on Tricia, I like to drive with the doors open!
Willie all jacked up! Who stole my rims??
Updated picture of new futon cushion, and crazy tire cover. Heat deflector around tea pot directs more heat to where it's needed, it also fits around one of my pots. Old yellow couch cushions given one more life as throw pillows.
Futon mattress pulled out for sleeping, or a work surface for crafting, or a nice place to sit and drink tea.
1/2 of the bed frame section pulled out for use as a coffee table. Cafe' Ole'!!
Setting up the table in the "living room"
This is my favorite cooking accessory! (no, it's not really a hubcap) They are at all thrift stores for a few bucks, work on propane stoves like a dream, make great quesadillas, and also good toast.
Fixing a bike flat in Austin TX, docking station to come!
Roof top gardening in TX
Plants on the roof are brought up to my garden in WI. Bella and Micah make good use of my chalkboard fabric in TX
New cedar ceiling! 1" blue foam covered in fabric insulates the skylight when it's cold.
Bike clamp mounted in the ceiling, new kitchen light.
Cedar like a sauna.
Added a second 75w solar panel. I can now use my rice cooker when the sun is shining :)
Yellow box on left is for a second battery, made by moving around a few things under the hood.
wall plants!
