The largest cross in the Western Hemisphere, near Amarillo, Texas....along US 40. What a sight to see, as you travel the road!
Without a doubt, some of the most beautiful land in the United States. No, not the freeway....New Mexico and Arizona. I could live out here...I really could!
Overlooking the Mojave dessert, as we traveled towards Bakersfield, California. What a beautiful scene and one that the camera cannot possibly capture accurately
Wow! Talk about wind turbines....we saw (literally) hundreds and possibly thousands of these between New Mexico and Bakersfield. Someone knows what they are doing here. This particular bank is in Tehachapi Pass, as you come into Bakersfield, CA
Once you top Tehachapi Pass, the view is spectacular. That is unless you look to the Southwest, and then the view is tempered by smog from LA. Too bad
My big family! Brother, Jeffy...then me in my Meechigan pullover, Brother-In-law, Chris and Mikey! This was taken shortly after our 15.5 hour day, so pardon my puffy eyes
Ah....at last! My favorite sign in San Francisco...next to Fisherman's Grotto. Below this sign, on any given day, you will see street performers. Most of them in this area seem to be better than most you see along The Embarcadero
The gentleman playing here is Brandon Mei, a gifted musician we listened to for some time, during our visit to San Francisco. He played beautifully, then hopped on his keyboard and treated us to some boogie woogie Jazz!
Pier 39 and 'The Rock'....Alcatraz! What an awesome sight
San Francisco's famed Sea Lions on Pier 39. Scientists still cannot explain why they relocated to the pier.
San Francisco's famed Cable Cars...what a neat thing to see, as you travel through the city. Note that this one is a true cable car, because there are no overhead wires
Crossing the Golden Gate to the Sausalito side. The hill immediately to the left of the bridge is where we went next, Battery Spencer. You can't see them in this photo, but people are lined up across the entire hill, overlooking the bridge
A shot I LOVE! The conditions were close to perfect, as we concluded our day on the hill overlooking San Francisco Bay and the location of Battery Spencer. This was 'the Golden Hour', no pun intended and I got a few shots like this, which are awesome
One of the mounts, used to hold the 12 inch guns the US used to protect against invasion by the Japanese.
This is self-explanatory, so read on...
Some of the officer's quarters at Battery Spencer
A nice shot of the courtyard area of Spencer Battery
"Lousy screws! I didn't do it, I tell ya....I didn't..."
Mikey, Chris and I visited one of the officer's quarters for a closer look
