9th May 2009 - Brussels - Rock for Tibet Festival

Rock for Tibet is a benefit concert for Tibetan refugees in India (http://www.myspace.com/rock4tibet). The first edition of this festival took place on 9th May 2009 in Brussels and was also supported by Vrienden van Tibet. All the incomes go to the Tibetan Children’s Village Suja in India. TCV Suja is one of the Tibetan Children’s Villages, where Tibetan children are raised and get education in their own Tibetan tradition and culture, and of course in their own language too. All the bands were professionals and they played the concert for free: THE MEETING ROOM (France), MADE J (Indonesia/Belgium) and THE AIM (Belgium). All the people involved were volunteers. The organisers of Rock for Tibet go to India at the end of May and they will personally give all the incomes of the concert to TCV Suja. 5th April 2009 - Kapellen - Tibet exhibition

Closing ceremony of the sand mandala at the exhibition "Tibet, a long look homeward" in Kapellen (Belgium) on Sunday 5th April 2009. The exbibition was an initiative of the Tibetaanse Vlaamse Vriendenkring with the suport of the Tibetbureau in Brussels and in cooperation with the "Vrienden van Tibet".
