Tehri

Old Tehri was situated at the confluence of the Bhagirathi and the Bhilangana rivers. This location was ideal for the construction of the dam and hence the lake that forms spans both the rivers. Bhagirathi on the west side and Bhilangana on the east side. Now the town of Tehri lies buried under 200metres of water!!
