2012 ACSC Summer Workshop Meeting

This was a very informative meeting along with the Elections. Congratulations to Ken Akin- Chairman ACSC, Robin Morley-Vice Chairman ACSC, Sonny Brown-Secretary ACSC and Allen Henry-Treasurer ACSC. The First Coast Shag Club did a wonderful job and even lined up entertainment for the meeting...Thank you FCSC !

2012 ACSC Summer Workshop POOL Parties & Gatherings

MURL...MURL....MURL...what a GREAT Pool Party ! To top it off the Shag Club Coalition gave us all a HAPPY HAPPY time with Mickey Mouse! Mickey and Minnie were leading the mouseketeers and what a happy time at the pool. They were also in charge of the hospitality room and a fun time was had by all. Thanks to Murl and the Coalition for creating some of the best memories at the workshop !!!

2012 Spring SOS PARADE

2012 SOS Spring Parade with Grand Marshalls... Dr. Phil Sawyer and Miss Chick and the theme was The Year of the Book which is in honor of Dr. Phil's upcoming book " Save the Last Dance for Me" "A Love Story of Shag and Society of Stranders". The weather was perfect and all the shag clubs were outstanding with their floats, vehicles and troops. What a fun time !!!!

2012 Spring SOS Before & After Parade with Parade AWARDS at Harolds and Arcade

The fun begins at the staging area on Main Street. Several hours are spent putting floats together, lining up and getting ready but the most important factor is the fun being had by all ! Then comes the Awards Ceremony after the parade at Fat Harolds with a packed house where the winners of each catagory is announced ! This year a special award was given at the OD Arcade also for Dr. Phil and Miss Chick as the Grand Marshalls of the parade !!! From the staging area early, then the parade and the award ceremonies...it sure is a FULL day of fun !!!!!

The ACSC Meeting was held at the OD Resort on Saturday morning. There were donations given by various shag clubs and the new Icon's were presented their plaques. There was also a special award "SOS Chairman's Award 2012" presented Mr. Harold Worley of the OD Resort for all of the support he has given SOS throughout the years.

We were able to visit Piedmont Shag Club party, Boppers Shag Club Presidents Party, Electric City Shag Club Tea party, Lake Norman Shag Club Tea Party, South Strand Shag Club Party, Palmetto Shag Club Party and Burlington Shag Club Party !!!!!! Busy Busy 1st Weekend at OD Arcade! Porch Party with Ray Scott and Joey Warren on Saturday... Murl's party got rained out ! Then Sunday morning was the OD Shag Club Party and there are usually around 350 members at this event with a wonderful breakfast buffet ! Sunday afternoon was Elaine's Arcade HAT party... few came out but that didn't mean it wasn't a fun fun time!

2012 ACSC Winter Workshop Saturday Hospitality Room hosted by Coalition Clubs

The Coalition Clubs (6 shag clubs) hosted the hospitality room on Saturday at the ACSC Winter Workshop at Hilton Head Island, SC. They had set up games (usually played by 6 year olds..haha) for everyone to play and were serving a specialty drink called the LIZARD ! They really know how to make everyone have so much fun !!! We even had horse (or donkey) races on on of the decks ! Thank you Coalition Clubs... you all did a great job !!!!!!!

2012 ACSC Winter Workshop Parties hosted by Beautfort Shag Club

The Beaufort Shag Club hosted the ACSC Winter Workshop at The Crown Plaza in Hilton Head Island, SC. What a beautiful place. They had breakfast buffet on Saturday morning and Sunday Morning along with Gospl hour. Saturday night was wonderful with a low country shimp boit and chicken. All of the Beaufort Shag Club Members were so helpful and they made it a wonderful weekend. Thank you Beaufort Shag Club for hosting one of the BEST workshops ever !!!

2012 Mid Winter-Sunday Gospel Hour Pirates Cove & OD Shag Club Brunch at OD Arcade

OD Shag Club had it's Mid Winter Brunch at the OD Arcade Sunday morning. There are usually about 300 members at each of the SOS brunches in attendance. Great breakfast buffett, line dance lessons and just great FUN !!! Pirates Cove was having it's SOS Winter Gospel Hour with Shrimp & Grits.... yum yum and great music !!!

WOW..what a busy day ! The State of Virginia held a shag club party at OD Beach Club for all the shag clubs in Virginia! Piedmont Shag Club Party was at Pirates Cove and Boppers Shag Club was at Duck Cafe. There were three shag club parties being held at OD Arcade at the same time...WHEW.... Stepping Out Shag Club, Electric City Shag Club and Lake Norman Shag Club. Then to top it off there was the Twisters Shag Club Party at Pirates Cove !

Boogie & Bogey in the Pines- Sandhills Shag Club July 2011

Sandhills Shag Club holds an annual event Boogie & Bogey in the Pines. The Saturday POOL Party is more FUN than should be allowed. The evening shag parties were GREAT with entertainment, wonderful food and a lot of shaggin' !!! This shag club really knows how to hold an Event that you can't forget !

There was NEVER a dull moment at the ACSC Summer Workshop in Augusta. Hospitality Rooms were never ending. The Pool Party with Murl Augustine started at the pool....BUT a storm came rolling in and the Pool Party was taken inside. A wonderful time was had by all that attented this workshop !!!!
