Whether painting on muslin or wood, walls, floors or ceilings, inside or outside, studio pieces or installations, medical illustrations or children's books, this work takes me to new heights everyday! I am originally from New York and have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University with a double major in Advertising Design and Illustration and minor degrees in Painting and Photography. I have a Masters of Arts Degree in Art History from Arizona State University with a specialty in High Renaissance Painting in Italy, which has allowed me to spend some time in Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. Graphic Design

After thirty years in advertising and graphic design, I have seen many changes in printing and production techniques. I began my career in 1979 by counting characters and cutting rubilith. At that time, Madison Avenue was hot for the next classic campaign or catchy slogan or jingle. I saw the advent of desktop publishing and its impact on our current information age and I remember sending one of the first test faxes in Arizona in the early 1980s, and marveling at the idea that I could send an image over thin air. This album contains images of logos and other designs created from approximately 1990 to 2005 and represents strategic marketing campaigns for a diverse range of companies in New York City, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

Murals

Here is a sampling of my residential and commercial mural paintings. They range in size from 10-50' and are usually inspired directly by the wishes of the client patron. All shown are a product of water based interior grade acrylic paints and glazes.

Scenic Art for Theater

Many of these sets are painted on canvas or muslin, using supersaturated scenic art paints from Roscoe. Some were painted vertically while others are "deck" painted, by sizing and stretching the material on a floor and painting with brushes with extended handles. Sizes range from 35 to 65 ' in width. I also designed and painted several of the sets shown in this album. Also shown are "hard" set pieces, which are painted wiith interior latex on luan or masonite.

Drawings, Illustrations and Easel Paintings

Some of these are in pencil, and others are in acrylic tube paint, opaque watercolor, traditional watercolor and mixed media. Many have been used in printed material, including books and advertising material. Size of originals ranges from 1' to 5' in width.

Custom Art and Faux Finishes

I have created over 300 2' square sample boards on masonite to show residential and commercial clients the hundreds of variations on faux finishes, custom scrollwork designs and tromp l'oeil used along with the literally thousands of color combinations that can transform ordinary living spaces to extraordinary environments.

Panel Paintings

All panels shown here are 24 inches square, primarily acrylic paint on treated masonite. Many are highly varnished. Some utilize mixed media and several have layers and surfaces in relief. Size for custom panels and installations can vary in size. I am currently showing many of these paintings at the Octagon Café in Fountain Hills.
