Bishop Christopher Senyonjo
We had the honour of hosting Bishop Christopher Senyonjo on Monday, June 7th, 2010. He came to speak about the oppression of LGBT persons in his native country of Uganda, and discussed many important issues. The events of the day were a noon service where he spoke about the Anti-Gay law in Uganda, followed by a reception, and in the evening we had a fundraising event at the National Arts Club to raise money for the UU-UNO's LGBT program. It was a blast! At the evening event, we were also honoured to be entertained by Broadway in South Africa, a charity group of broadway singers who teach youth in need through performance and outreach. Video of the event will soon be made available. For more on Broadway in South Africa, see: http://www.broadwayinsouthafrica.org/Broadway_in_South_Africa/Home.html
