Students in grades 4 - 9 were eligible to compete in the 2011 Upland Science Fair. Exhibits were set up in the Barn Gallery on January 25.
The 1st grade are interested in the displays as they move from their classroom to the Barn for drama class.
Several students wanted to point out older sibling's work to me.
They are really proud of their sibling's projects!
The experiments spanned a wide variety of science disciplines, from zoology... (This project was an investigation into stink bugs' preferences as to habitat)
To sound waves... (This project compared tin can phones to plastic cup phones).
To computer technology... (This project was investigating whether mineral oil would make an efficient cooling system for hard drives).
To data analysis... (This project was a statistical analysis of survey data to identify trends in technology use among middle schoolers).
To botany... (This project looked at the effects of salinity on plant growth).
To ecology... (This project analyzed the effect of pollution on pond life), and even more!
