"Best in Swimsuit" competition at Vinpearland Tourist Site
For the first time, a separate pre-prelims swimsuit competition (similar to Miss World's Beach Beauty contest) was held -- although the results have no bearing on the offiicial prelims or the makeup of the top fifteen. At the conclusion of the event (televised live on Vietnamese tv) Mexico was awarded "Best in Swimsuit" -- the rest of the top five were Colombia, India, USA & Spain.
