Ed and Suzie Kessey leaving the waters at Taneycomo after a good day of fly fishing. The brown trout are coming up the river in preparation for spawning. We saw lots of really big ones and heard of a 17 pounder being caught. I did not catch a single brown myself but lots of rainbows and most were good sized quality fish. There were 12 TulsaFlyFishers who attended the outing and most everyone experienced good fishing. The weather was cold on Thursday and Friday but the weekend endied up being very nice and sunny with highs around 65. We had dinner Saturday night at Shorty Smalls BBQ (it's OK but nothing to write home about). It was very nice to meet and get to know some new faces too.
Fred Kirk caught this rainbow on a # 14 soft hackle with a yellow hare dubbed body.
Bill Smith just finished the day catching raibows on dry flies.
Tying flies with Pele.
Rainbow Trout
Look at all those fishermen. Mike Scott counted 60 on Friday morning at the dam.
