After the casting lesson we headed to a nearby stream about 10 minutes away where Dave planted several "trout" in the stream. These trout were wooden, trout-shapes tethered just under the surface and held in place with lead weights. These "trout" behaved like the real thing, except they didn't spook if you made a bad cast! We practiced up-stream, downstream and cross-stream casting/fishing techniques.
