Our February outing to the Blue River was an adventure to new places. As far as I am aware, only four of us made the 3.25 hour drive from Tulsa. The weather probably had a lot to do with the small turnout. It was a little chilly in the 50s with a light breeze, clouds and the threat of rain. The Blue is a beautiful river containing boulders, small water falls and lots of brush to catch your fly. The trout fishing was fun and we enjoyed the experience of a new river but we all agreed the Lower Illinois is much better for trout fishing and you save 4 hours driving round trip. Scott Hood caught a trout within the first minute.
