At the start in Tacoma, Saturday. I'm Tim, the tall guy in the back. In front of me is my wife Deb. At the far right is my brother Paul. In the blue coat is Paul's wife Karen. Moving left, the next two are their daughters Becky and Katy. Katy's guy Mel is in the back row between Karen and Becky. Gary is in the black cap, and to the far left are two of his co-workers.
And we are off through the balloon starting arch. That's my sons Isaac (left) and Sam. They were hiding in the back of the first photo somewhere.
Gorgeous day in Point Defiance Park. MS Walkers as far as the eye can see.
Karen, Deb, and our friend Oneida.
Gary and friends.
Curving around the Japanese Pagoda.
Karen, Deb, and Oneida.
Around the Pagoda, past the reindeer, and into the big trees of 5 Mile Drive.
Becky, Katy, Karen, Deb, Oneida, and Paul.
Gary and Mel.
Great to see so many walkers.
Every year we have a photo with the crew of the local Klingon battle ship.
Paul and Mel at the Longshoremen's Union rest stop tent.
Back at the finish line, Deb and Oneida line up for water and an official "Oh Boy! Oberto!" event-sponsoring hot dog.
Isaac and Sam.
Our sister Ruth was there to cheer us on.
Deb with new friends. That's Deanna (second from left) and her parents.
OK, now it's Sunday morning, the overcast has moved in, and we are in Huskey Stadium awaiting the start of the Seattle MS Walk. Brother Paul and I (and our families) support each other at our respective hometown MS Walks.
The Walkers leave the stadium and pass Hec Edmundson Pavillion.
The route is to Gasworks Park and back, via the Burke Gilman Trail. Here we are arriving at the park.
Speaking of "Oh Boy!", here's a Seafair Clown. Personally, I prefer Klingons, but I'm glad to honor the contribution of all service organizations.
Paul and I read a plaque about the old gas works. Seems this was the last coal gassification plant operating in the United States when it was shut down about 50 years ago.
Deb and I pose with impressive industrial ruins. It was another successful MS Walk. We raised $582 for the cause. Thanks, everybody!
