Looking off a bridge in Ayr near Glasgow the evening before heading to Rome
Goin' on a trip...goin' on a trip.....trainin' it from Pisa to Rome
There were vineyards all along the route, just tough to get a good shot of them!
Santa Maria in Trastevere where Meagan's first concert was!!
A gorgeous place to have a mass service
Go Meagino!
Give me that Ol' Time Religion
The whole group
You can hardly see her...but trust me, she's there!!
Music to our ears
Such amazing fun!
Holy calzone!
The pizza was so delicious and crepe-like
Outside the Santa Maria in Trastevere
So much gelato...so little time (this was nutella flavored!!)
Breakfast Sunday morning...
Mike's first Italian espresso...certainly not his last
Our hotel, The Torre Rossa, had a lovely courtyard. We couldn't resist the flowers
That's my guy!
So handsome
Um....yeah, if looks could kill......
Or if plants could eat! Yikes!
Just outside our room...so lovely
The Vatican....unbelieveably huge and open
We had the perfect day to see it
The next string of photos is on our walk toward the Colleseum
There it is in the distance!!
Look at the looming cloud in the background! Yes, it sadly rained shortly after this shot was taken.
Titus' Arch
Many cups of coffee were enjoyed...this is a latte
The site of Meagan's second concert where we saw her for the last time before parting ways...
This is the front of that same building
So ornate
So sweet...miss this girl so much
Here's to good times!
Ol' pals
Taken purely for the sake of scrapbooking in the near future
Can't beat real, Italian mozzarella
Thank goodness for music while travelling....the train from Rome to Florence
Lampara Ristorante
Proscuitto e funghi (always and forever)
Caffe Americano
a yummy little somethin'
En route to the Duomo in florence
Inside the Duomo
We climbed all 493 steps....
Throughout the climb there were slots in the walls to take pictures of the view of Florence
And to look down to see how high up you were going
We're headed all the way up to that opening at the top!
Looking down into the Duomo
Brick work inside to show my Dad (he's a mason)
Oh wow
Firenze!!
Way to go, you two!
Look way down those steps....there I am!
Tools used to build the Duomo
San Lorenzo Square shopping
Motorcyles everywhere!! (Many women rode them too!)
Bring on the pizza! (Again)
Okay, now we're walking down the high end street....Gucci, Prada, Armani....
Approaching the Ponte Vecchio
There's the Ponte Vecchio behind me!
Again, much needed italian caffe...look how yummy it is!
If you touch the boar's snout you return to Florence....so we're going again sometime!
On the Ponte Vecchio where all the jewellry is
We saw little critters on our way up the hill to look over Florence
Lots of little critters
Frutti di bosco
The Duomo, which we had climbed earlier that day, is in the background behind me
And yes, that luminous cloud burst on us
Beautiful bridges
Duomo in the distance
We were clear up there on the top....crazy!
A wall in florence....a pretty wall in Florence
Every time you climb up, you gotta climb down too!
Our anniversary meal on the river at Golden View
Mike tried to take a pensive shot of me, but once I discovered what he was doing...I couldn't keep my giggles in
This is the final product
Lot's of meat and cheese displays
A lovely italian woman sweeping...just thought she was cute
Such a good shot of my honey!
Again with the pizza...can't get enough! (Pisa)
We're now in Pisa headed to the leaning tower
There is our first glance of the leaning tower in the distance
It's really not nearly as big as I had envisioned it
Royal Hotel Victoria is the white building in the background where we stayed in Pisa
Last evening of the trip
Getting in one more pizza
And one more gelato
