Starting out in Oban
Be careful that your car doesn't fall into the water
Views from the ferry to Mull
Our burgers at the Mish Nish in Mull
Interesting verbage
Single lane roads made for interesting passing at times
No gates, just sheep
Do you like the cottage I picked for us, Paul?
Say what?
At this point we have just arrived from Mull to Iona
Don't be deceived....all of Iona was closed except for one place open for lunch between 11-2. It was definitely the end of tourist season.
Pay no attention to the girl behind the camera
The ruins of the Nunnery
My favorite nun
The Abbey on Iona where religious classes still take place and services are still held
Um, a little more space, please? Were all monks just little? Why?
Magnificent stuff!
Had to get a prayer in with Mungo monk
And of course some writing as well...
Such a little door!
You got a problem?
Haggis and Oat cakes...yum
We had SUCH a delicious meal here at the Mull Pottery Cafe
I had lovely scallops in garlic butter with potaotes and broccoli
While Mike had a seafood soup type dish with langostines
And a gaelic coffee to wash it all down...boy was he happy
Next day....on to coffee and chocolates
The docks of Mull
A neat looking ship wreck
Some local brew
Again with the seafood...we shared this plate of claws as a starter...oh goodness, it was amazing
Mike with his bacon wrapped salmon
And me with my haddock and squat lobster...that was a new one....but oh so good
On the way home we stopped at Dunstaffnage Castle. Such a lovely day, it was!
First glimpse from a distance
The chapel close to the castle
Just in case you're wondering if you're going too fast, just remember...twenty's plenty!
