Lucy P (the TCT mannequin)

One day we woke up and realized that we needed a mannequin. Simon gathered up all our old store fixtures and traded them to the used store fixtures place. He scraped enough credit to buy 'Lucy P', our venus de mannequin with a loose head and missing hands. During her first week at the store, kids knocked her over and broke her head off so we had to tether her. Lucy changes costume on a regular basis and can sometimes be found touring at outside events. Free Kids T-Shirt Workshop

Treasure City Thrift Store is having a free workshop for kids of all ages to make/decorate/re-fashion used t-shirts into anything they want. We will provide all materials necessary as well as snacks and refreshments. And as an added bonus, all participants are invited to display their final creations at our 1st Annual Fashion Show coming up on OCT 13th.

4th Fire

An early morning fire - deliberately started in the free box out front of the store - burned down the front of Treasure City on August 16th, 2007. We reopened after 2 weeks and much cleaning of smoke/water damage, but the store front was not repaired for about 3 months. Fire #2 was started on the west side of the building next to the tree stump. Fire #3 was also in the free box, but both did no significant damage.

Yellow Bike Shop @ TCT

• Jan 27th, 2007 / HUMAN-POWERED SHOP MOVE: the contents of the Wheatsville YBP satellite shop were stowed and transported on roughly 40 bicycles, tricycles, bike trailers, panniers, and backpacks to the new Treasure City shop. In only 2.5 hours the entire contents of the shop had been packed, transported 3 miles (view map), and unloaded at the new shop. It is inspirational what 40 people with a few pedal machines can do in so little time. Deepest thanks to all participated in making the move possible. 1st Fire

our first fire burned down the small shed behind the store. it happened at night and the fire department never came out. luckily the store building was made of cinder block and only scorched. It was rebuilt (at the time these pictures were taken) for HRC.
