The water had been out of use for years before Footsteps came along...
It has an enormous capacity and alongside the classrooms it could form part of a useful "water catchment" resource
All it needed was cleaning out, finding and repairing the leaky parts and reinforcing.
Reinforcing takes place with steel rods and cement.
New plumbing is installed.
It's over man-height when you stand in there.
This is when all the cement is drying.
This is when it's all-but-done. Another successful Footsteps project that shows how a small amount of money, around £500, can help provide water security for a whole community. Thanks to the Rafiki 2009 Gang.
