Medieval jetton found by Paul Walker and Chris Wheeler, believed to be a15th Century Medieval Jetton of France (maybe Charles VI 1380 – 1422 AD). Jettons were used in early accountancy calculations, in a way similar to beads on an abacus, but on a chess-board- like tray - hence the expression "Exchequer". photo © Paul Walker
